During trials ...
Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, ...

Some do not regard things as a trial.
Many trials we face alone
One can go to the Lord in prayer for strength.
Many times we worry more than taking action.
Jesus God is faith, steadfastness, our sanctuary.
... Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, ... ~ 1st Peter 2:21-25
We are to follow Jesus in times of trial.
Many things are written as an example.
When the Lord was troubled, He prayed.
Praying or talking to God is a responsibility.
... but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, ...
~ Philippians 4:6
Don't let the cares of this life or world overwhelm you.
Allow the Lord to work His will.
-> There is a watchfulness of prayer.
Jesus asks His disciples to stay awake.
We need to be watchful in overwhelming trials.
... they went out to the Mount of Olives. ~ Matthew 26:30
... "Sit here while I go and pray over there." ~ Matthew 26:36
Take time alone.
We need to make the effort to be with God.
The disciples were not spiritualy alert or watchful.
How do you value God's commands?
~ Do we hear the value after being told?
He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, ... ~ Matthew 26:39
Faith and focus is doing God's will.
... Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. ... ~ Matthew 26:40-41
Prayer helps strengthen us.
~ Trust, hear and act according to His will.
... not what I will, but what You will." ~ Mark 14:36
We must stay faithful in our focus.
Give disbelievers a little of the word at a time.
... yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. ...

... "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; ...

Obedience in prayer; Pray not in doubt.
... But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, ... ~ James 1:5-6
Obeying God's will is always right and will acomplish great things.

If you have conscience one is troubled by wrong doing.
~ Obedience encourages us to obey.
... nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." ~ Matthew 26:39
Jesus was ready to serve.
... if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done."

Jesus had a readiness to endure.

... not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; ...

Continual frequency of prayer.
└─> Agony did not reduce His prayer.
└─> Increased its urgency.
Don't forget to pray when times are good.
"... today you will be with Me in Paradise." ~ Luke 23:43
... will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:7
Prayer helps us stay on course.
... Be at peace among yourselves. ~ 1st Thessalonians 5:13

Jesus never grew tired of prayer until He was delivered.

We must pray for strength.
We must not grow tired.
