         ● Haughty
         ● Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God      
Battles in the shadows of sin expose the soul
  Do not:
     ● Let sin reign in your mortal body

       Sin = death
  Grace = Righteousness to eternal life in Christ  


It is God who loves us beyond the measure of our sin
● Knowing to do good and not doing it is sin
● A haughty look, proud heart, evil pursuits, - are sin
● Sin is lawlessness without regard for goodness
● It is untruthful to deny that one has sinned
● Sin enters a life through acts of disobedience
● The root of sin is held in the heart of a liar
● Faith in Jesus results in the justification of life
● Knowing right from wrong is strength we all seek
● A shallow character holds unforgiveness close
● Desire gives sin’s unrestrained rise leading to death
● Judging one’s self as superior is a sin of prejudice
● His word calls for us to rule over our temptations
● Forgiveness through Christ heals us from sin
Good love is defined by honesty
● Belief in Christ frees us from the bondage of flesh
● Righteousness of belief in Christ overwhelms sin
● It is Christ who bears the sins of all true believers
● God wills for us to be alive in His Spirit
● Christ’s sacrifice in blood cleanses us from sin
● Christ had to sacrifice His life that we might find life
● God now employs Christ for our remission of sins
● God’s promise is forgiveness to who act on belief
● Regret is the healing key as God forgets prior sins
● God came in Christ to free us from the lies of Satan
● Faith in obedience to His baptismal call saves a soul
● Without honest confession no forgiveness is given
● God’s truth in Christ has to be acknowledged
To have God one must submit to His will
● Death in sins comes by disbelief in Christ’s message
● To live to God knows His sacrifice for our life
● While we sin our advocacy is through Christ
● A spirit of good wars against the desires of flesh
● Grace supersedes the law no one can achieve
● God declares He will dismiss the sins of the faithful
● Whatever is not from faith is sin
● Denying sin, and needing Him, makes God a liar
● It is the word of God that assists us in not sinning
● God came in Christ to deliver truth and save sinners
● God desires mercy over excuses of sacrifice
● Mercy triumphs over judgment
● God looks for us to present ourselves as righteous
True awareness is to not miss out on God’s blessings
● God wills our knowledge in Him over man’s deceit
● God calls for honesty without anger
● God knowing all things will render justice
● Slavery to sin is set free by Christ’s favor
● Sexual immorality sins against one’s own body
● God calls for sympathetic intervention for mild sins
● We should not pray for those guilty of heinous acts
● Habitual sin traps a soul to falling away from God
● Sinners are reserved in darkness for judgment
● The darkness of sin is repulsive to all decent
● A land that blatantly sins denying Him will suffer
● Ignorance is unacceptable as God calls for control
● It is knowledge of God that emancipates the soul

ALL ARE UNDER SIN
SIN DEMANDS PUNISHMENT
GOD IS JUST AND THE JUSTIFIER
Don’t let religion stop you from seeking Jesus.
Learn for yourself what the Bible teaches about the Lord’s kingdom,
His church.
Submit to His truth and live through Him.
Obey the gospel and take advantage of the blood that was shed for you!
Excessive drinking invites lawlessness
Alcohol is a mocker, brawler, & not wise
Don’t mix with alcoholics led to poverty/drowsiness
Bingers wallow in woes, contentions, false injuries
Drunks will see strange things & utter perversities
Alcoholics don’t feel physical pain waking for more
Give strong drink to those perishing abating misery
Use a little wine for frequent infirmities
Blessed are you when the leaders are not drunkards
Drinkers do not regard the work of the LORD
Alcohol swallows one in err both vision & judgment
Harlotry, wine, and new wine enslave the heart
Giving alcohol to a neighbor is to one’s shame
Beware and avoid revelries causing harsh judgment
The courageous abstain from what offends God
Walk properly not in revelry and drunkenness/lusts
Do not love the world or the things in the world
Do not let sin reign in you or obey it in its lusts
Abstain from fleshly lusts which war against / soul
Drunkards will not inherit the kingdom of God
Do not be drunk but be filled with the Spirit
Do not to keep company or dine with drunkards
Curtail anything causing 1 to stumble or made weak
Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God
Speak things which are proper for sound doctrine
Leaders and all wise should not be given to wine
Be sober/vigilant resting hope fully on grace in God
Test everything holding good abstaining from all sin    

CHRIST IS OUR EXAMPLE

Sorrow often defines our greatest desire
  Put to death:
                    ● Fornication
                    ● Uncleanness
                    ● Passion
                    ● Evil desire
                    ● Covetousness
                             ⮡  which = idolatry  
Clinging to things traps a soul from seeing higher
 ● Covetousness is not a fitting quality for the saints
 ● Seek what comes from above given by Christ
 ● Put to death wickedness before God’s wrath comes
 ● Be content with such things as you have
 ● Life does not consist in the abundance of goods
 ● The love of money pierces a heart with sorrows
 ● Compulsively seeking wealth is a disease of greed
 ● Treasure is found in the desires of one’s heart
 ● One cannot serve God and insatiable desires
 ● Covetous men ruin good people stealing their lives
 ● No attachment is worth more than eternal life
 ● Placing possessions above God nullifies faith
 ● Trust in God the giver and not material possessions   
To cross the river of sin only faith heals a heart
  Will not inherit the kingdom of God:  
                            ● Adultery
                            ● Fornication
                            ● Uncleanness
                            ● Lewdness
                            ● Idolatry
                            ● Sorcery
                            ● Hatred
                            ● Contentions
                            ● Jealousies
                            ● Outbursts of wrath
                            ● Selfish ambitions
                            ● Dissensions
                            ● Heresies
                            ● Envy
                            ● Murders
                            ● Drunkenness
                            ● Revelries, and the like
Covetousness is closely connected to worries
 ● Hypocrites will lie in pursuit of their own gain
 ● No covetous man will inherit God’s kingdom
 ● To lose one’s life for God will find it
 ● The whole world is not enough to pay for one soul
 ● Love of the world is not the love of the Father
 ● To be a friend of the world is an enemy of God
 ● Love for another fulfills the law of God
 ● You shall not covet is a commandment
 ● Selfish ambitions deny entry into God’s kingdom
 ● No one can avoid encounters with worldly evils
 ● Material wealth only can be a spider web of misery
 ● Many smooth operators are out for dishonest gain   
 ● It is more blessed to give than to receive
Deception can come by casual and twofaced spirits
  … nor give heed to fables
                  purpose of the commandment

                  → Love From a pure heart
                                From a good conscience  
                                From sincere faith
Some of the most compulsive habits rob holiness
  Found not as you wish:  

                        ● Contentions
                        ● Jealousies
                        ● Outbursts of wrath
                        ● Selfish ambitions
                        ● Backbitings
                        ● Whisperings
                        ● Conceits
                        ● Tumults
Deepest efforts to find God will free a soul
Deceiving spirits will speak lies in hypocrisy
Reject profane and old wives’ fables
Do not heed men who turn from the truth
Avoid foolish and ignorant disputes
Profane and idle babblings increase ungodliness
Defiant religious fanatics abandon sound doctrine
We will give account for every idle word
Do not speak evil of one another
He who restrains his lips is wise
A whisperer separates the best of friends
Without bridling one’s tongue faith is useless
Busybodies say things which they ought not
Lead a quiet life and mind your own business

1.   We really don’t know whether the thief was baptized or not
2.   The thief is not an example of salvation by faith only.
3.   Baptism is essential to receive forgiveness under the Gospel.
4.   Thief was saved while the Old Law was still in effect.
5.   The testator (Christ), while alive, could save whom He would.

Be an Example Over the Temptation

It is sinful to walk away from doing good.
Be mindful of others and show mercy.
