11/23/2008 ~ Our Bodies as A Temple of God

The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork. ~ Psalm 19:1

For God to be glorified it must be through our bodies.

... your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you
have from God, and you are not your own? ... ~ 1^st Corinthians 6:18-20

Do you own your own body or thank God for it as a gift?

... For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell
in them And walk among them. ..." ~ 2^nd Corinthians 6:11-18

We should walk with God in the world
~ or say in fellowship with other brethren.
Let God dwell in you.
GROWING.

... nor give place to the devil. ~ Ephesians 4:27

◎ God is in all, acknowledge that.
● Does the devil reside in you?
God can not dwell in darkness with the devil.
If Christ is in us, His temple, His life is there.
Is your body in service to God?
└─> Many hold shame for missing the mark.

'... Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy,
for I am the LORD your God.' ~ Leviticus 20:6-7

Everything has been given to us to glorify God.
We must choose to have control over our impulses.
We need to recognize what is Not approved by God.

'... I the LORD am holy, and have separated you from the peoples,
that you should be Mine.' ~ Leviticus 20:26

... those who practice such things are deserving of death, ... ~ Romans 1:32

... Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord,
and the Lord for the body. ... ~ 1^st Corinthians 6:12-17

~ Bodies will die.
At death, all is vanity.
Will you defy what God has called for?

For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones.
~ Ephesians 5:30

There will be impact.
- Do you have a marriage of self to Christ?
God made us valuable, not worthless.
He commands us to use it for Him.
~ Not using it, with resentments for Him,
invites the wickedness of unrestrained filth.
We must have acts of serving, in our relationship with Christ.
→ Pornography is one of Satan�s greatest tools.
~ You can get enough off of your antenna to go to hell.

... exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. ... ~ Romans 1:26-32
└─> People will suffer physically as a result of partaking in the poisons of this life.

If we allow it, we cut ourselves from God
and invite the judgment of death.

Safe Sex?
Safe Fornication?
Safe Adultery?

Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot
is one body with her? ... ~ 1^st Corinthians 6:16

God only gives us ONE BODY ~ Our bodies belong to God.
~ He will do with us as He wills.
The wrath of God will shear souls.
If you are joined to the harlot, it will effect who you are.

It Effects

Body
Spirit
Soul

Who You Are.

If you participate in what you despise, you are a hypocrite and hold guilt.

CLOSE TO CHRIST = SENSE OF IDENTITY

... And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
~ Genesis 2:23-25

Can we be naked with God?
~ Shame is a safeguard, from God.
- Do you advertise the flesh or the faith?

... if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy
- meditate on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8

What do you radiate?
→ We need to control our thinking.
Choose not to think of those things that defile you.

... who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, ...
~ 1^st Corinthians 10:12-13

For men, don�t go mentally window shopping.
└─> Flee evil.
↓
Spend more time in the word.

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this:
to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, ... ~ James 1:27

Where there is no counsel, the people fall;
But in the multitude of counselors there is safety. ~ Proverbs 11:14

Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. ~ Ecclesiastes 4:12

It is safer for young and old alike too not go to those dark places
involving unrestrained physical explorations with other individuals.

The only ordained system by God -
for sexual relations - is marriage between a man and woman.
→ Remorse and regret comes from the darkness.
We must keep ourselves safe.

... If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
~ Romans 12:17-18

We can only stand if we are honest with all men.
Let us present our bodies in honor to God.

... offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
~ 1^st Peter 2:5

... pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is
the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. ... ~ 1^st Thessalonians 5:17-21

WILL POWER = SPIRITUAL POWER

... Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.
~ Acts 17:24

HE WANTS TO FIND US.
SUCCEED, FOR YOUR OWN SOULS SAKE.
