3/6/2005 ~ Spiritual Living

... Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. ...
~ Romans 8:1-17

To be spiritual we must be:                                                           

1. Free from sin
2. Mind the Spirit of God (John 4:24)
3. God's Spirit needs to be in us
4. Have a relationship with God,
    ~ not just obeying a set of laws

To live spiritually we must abandon living by the flesh:                  
● Sin = Debt
● We can not bear sin
● We are called to repent

SIN   =   (1st John 3:4), (Galatians 5:15-21)


To stay away from sin & be spiritual = (Galatians 5:22-26), (Ephesians 3:17), (Ephesians 5:18-21)

... By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. ~ 1st John 4:1-6

... if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ~ 1st John 4:7-11

... he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. ~ 1st John 4:12-16

... But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. ... ~ 1st John 4:17-19

... that he who loves God must love his brother also. ~ 1st John 4:20-21

If we are spiritually minded we have salvation.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. ... ~ Proverbs 23:7
