12/16/2007 ~ Come Rest In The Lord


"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest. ..." ~ Matthew 11:28-30


... in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. ~ Galatians 6:9
                                  ♥
It will be a labor to follow Jesus.

~ We will receive a rest from the burden of sin.
It gives one strength to move forward.
Alternatively, to fall behind brings weakness.


... take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand
in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. ~ Ephesians 6:10-13


... the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; ... ~ Ephesians 6:14-18

PUT ON
TRUTH
RIGHTEOUSNESS
GOSPEL OF PEACE
FAITH
SALVATION
THE BURDEN

~ Is it for the glory of GOD or SATAN ?
                                              

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. ~ Matthew 6:21

Do you assemble with others to worship? Why not?

... "Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell
who are at my house." ... ~ Luke 9:57-62


Does our wealth deliver us to ambivalence?

One can always learn more about Jesus.
~ People want the hope of eternal salvation
but don’t take the time to learn from Him.
Do you have the energy for God?
                    Learn from Me. <─┘


GENESIS = JESUS CHRIST = REVELATION

Always the focus should be God first.
◎ I want to know and love God more.
Jesus never gave up and was always in control.
                 A hard order to fill or live up to. <─┘
We must submit to the Lord’s way to find our rest.
  More time and experience is the suave of salvation.
Swallow your pride and stop what you are doing wrong
~ and you will find the pleasure of peace.
Put away sin.

... Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? ... ~ Job 38:1-11

For all that God is and has done,
He wants to be personal with us through His Son.


In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. ~ John 1:1


By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, ... ~ Psalm 33:6

... the worlds were framed by the word of God, ... ~ Hebrews 11:3

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,
... ~ John 1:14


God the Creator's word is filled with promise for the individual soul.

"I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." ~ John 14:18

... the Lord Himself will give you a sign:
Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, ... ~ Isaiah 7:14


"... and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated,
"God with us." ~ Matthew 1:21-23


For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; ... ~ Colossians 2:9

He came that we would know Him and who He Is; what He expects.
~ He came to us at the appointed time.


But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son,
born of a woman, born under the law, ... ~ Galatians 4:4


... made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant,
and coming in the likeness of men. ~ Philippians 2:5-7


... but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. ... ~ Hebrews 2:14-17

He came for those that would believe in His Love and Truth.

... sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin:
He condemned sin in the flesh, ... ~ Romans 8:3


And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem
according to the custom of the feast. ~ Luke 2:42


"... I must be about My Father's business ..."~ Luke 2:49-50

... "A prophet is not without honor except in his own country,
among his own relatives, and in his own house." ~ Mark 6:3-4


The Jewish leadership condemned Him
as a heretical man threatening their authority.


... "Then the sons are free. ..." ~ Matthew 17:24-27

He wants us to be open and free with Him, owing nothing.
└─> An awesome God concerned as everyone's advocate.                  


"... And why do doubts arise in your hearts? ..." ~ Luke 24:36-43

... He Himself has suffered, being tempted,
He is able to aid those who are tempted. ~ Hebrews 2:18


... Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. ... ~ Hebrews 4:14-15

He asks that we wholeheartedly hold to our faith.

... "Away with you Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD
your God, and Him only you shall serve.' " ... ~ Matthew 4:1-11


For all that is in the world - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and
the pride of life - is not of the Father but of the world. ~ 1st John 2:16


... found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient
to the point of death, even the death of the cross. ~ Philippians 2:8


He came to assure us of His eternal genuineness.

... release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime
subject to bondage. ~ Hebrews 2:14-15


... we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses,
... ~ Hebrews 4:15


... For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned
to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. ~ 1st Peter 2:21-25


"... I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep" ~ John 10:15

Men rarely accept that from above.
It’s not what you don’t do, it’s what you do do.
Find confidence in resting in the Lord.
