Theme of the Bible ... Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! ... ~ Galatians 3:13-29 God made a promise and He does not lie. ... God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. ... ~ Genesis 1:30-31 "... you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." ~ Genesis 2:16-17 Nothing less than the promise of victory over sin. ... The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." ... ~ Genesis 3:9-15 A promise of redemption (seed of woman). ... And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, ... ~ Genesis 6:5-8 About 10 generations pass as wickedness increases (Genesis 6-9). 2. The land promise is fulfilled. And the promise of the seed ... a promise of redemption. "... her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel." ~ Genesis 3:15 ┌─> Seed of David. ... I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, ... ~ 2nd Samuel 7:12-13 ... And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ... ~ Isaiah 9:6-7 ... God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; ... ~ Daniel 2:36-44 Four kingdoms preceding Christ’s coming: Samarian, Babylonian, Greek, and Roman. ... to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, ... ~ Daniel 7:13-14 ... the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, ... ~ Isaiah 7:14 "... "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; ..." ~ Acts 2:38-39 - Promise for the remission of sins. "I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; ..." ~ Genesis 12:3 ... God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, ... ~ Acts 3:26 Our Salvation is a Result of the Seed Promise. ... "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ ..." ~ Acts 2:38 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. ... ~ Galatians 3:26-29 God had each one of us in mind when He promised those things to Abraham leading to our opportunity for the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. ~ Galatians 3:29 ... "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; ..." ~ Acts 2:38-39 You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made ... ~ Acts 3:25-26 From this man's seed, according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior - Jesus - ~ Acts 13:23 And we declare to you glad tidings - that promise which was made to the fathers. ~ Acts 13:32 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers. ... ~ Acts 26:6-7 ... it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets: that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, ... ~ Ephesians 3:3-8 There has been generation after generation of the faithful. ... died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them ... ~ Hebrews 11:13 ... who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, ... ~ Hebrews 11:33 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, ... ~ Hebrews 11:39 ... according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus ... ~ Ephesians 3:10-11 Are you faithful to the promise? |
