... But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been
brought near by the blood of Christ. ... ~ Ephesians 2:11-19


or Circumcision

       or Uncircumcision       

... I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself
in the house of God, ... ~ 1st Timothy 3:15

The church is the family of God.
The relationship between the Jews and the Gentiles
was that of with God (Jew) and not with God (Gentile).
The wall between the two needed to be removed and was through Jesus.

There are different roles in the church.

The Father.

... according to the will of our God and Father, ... ~ Galatians 1:1-4

Children of God.

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. ...
~ Galatians 3:26-27


Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual ...
~ Galatians 6:1

There are different stages of growth in the church. ~ All start as babies.

... as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, ... ~ 1st Peter 2:2

... not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall ... ~ 1st Timothy 3:6

... that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro ...
~ Ephesians 4:14

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. ~ 1st Corinthians 16:13
└─> We ought to grow up and behave.                                    

... but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ. ... ~ 2nd Peter 3:17-18

... and you have come to need milk and not solid food. ...
~ Hebrews 5:9-14

Would we deny God to choose our own thoughts?

... knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
they are again entangled ... ~ 2nd Peter 2:20

"... all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation."
~ 2nd Peter 3:4

The command is to grow and give diligence to spiritual maturity.

Some qualities of children need to be cultivated ~

... humbles himself as this little child is the greatest
in the kingdom of heaven. ... ~ Matthew 18:1-6

Humility over arrogance. (There is no peace in arrogance.)

... Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.
~ Proverbs 8:13

Is it foolish pride that holds our walls of fear stopping honesty?

When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.
~ Proverbs 11:2

Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; ... ~ Proverbs 16:5

... when He noted how they chose the best places, ... ~ Luke 14:7-11

God is unhappy when we elevate ourselves.

... not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, ...
~ Romans 12:3

Donít inflate our own value.

... in malice be babes, but in understanding be mature. ~ 1st Corinthians 14:20

... laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
as newborn babes, ... ~ 1st Peter 2:1-3

Soft forgiveness without malice.

Ever say, "You know better?"

... Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. ...
~ 1st Samuel 15:3

... "They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people ...
~ 1st Samuel 15:13-15

"... rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king."
~ 1st Samuel 15:22-23

Saul should have known better.

Do we follow our own desires or is it our resolve to please,
~ love God over self with self-control?

... That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. ~ Acts 2:21

"... whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him."
~ Acts 10:34-35

Then the Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing.... ~ Acts 11:12

"... no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith."
~ Acts 15:7-9

... he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of
the circumcision. ... ~ Galatians 2:11-14

The Apostle Peter should have known better.

The is no difference between Gentile or Jew,
all can be part of the one body.
Hypocrites are not part of Godís will.
Above all, God wishes us to be direct!

Some are weak...

We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, ...
~ Romans 15:1

... warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak,
be patient with all. ~ 1st Thessalonians 5:14

Common characteristics are to be found in us all.

● Love each other         

... If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; ...
~ 1st John 4:19-21

"... all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
~ John 13:34-35

... abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
~ 1st Corinthians 13:1-13

... look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
~ Philippians 2:1-4

We need to learn how to better love one another.

Christ left His heavenly abode to come here to suffer for us
because He loved us and to compassionately show us how to love.

 ● Care for each other     

... who will sincerely care for your state. For all seek their own, ...
~ Philippians 2:20-21

... but that the members should have the same care for one another. ...
~ 1st Corinthians 12:25-26

... Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor ...
~ Romans 12:9-21

The love and care of a brother is hard to come by.
To be grown is to be kind without vengeance.

The church has physical needs.

... and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. ~ Acts 2:44-45
                                    └─> Because they cared.

... neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, ...
~ Acts 4:32-35

The church needs to grow gaining more true Christians.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them ...
~ Matthew 28:19

All face the challenges and burdens of mortal life.

... In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong. ~ Job 1:13-22

... I alone am left; and they seek to take my life." ~ 1st Kings 19:13-14

Do not assume ... for it can be the playground of blind confusion.

... seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, ...
~ 1st Kings 19:18-19

Endurance is tempered through encouragement.

All are called to take on responsibilities.


... the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God ...
~ Acts 20:28

... serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest ...
~ 1st Peter 5:2

Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God ...
~ Hebrews 13:7


... that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought speak. ~ Ephesians 6:19-20

                      Civil Authorities

But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, ...
~ 1st Timothy 1:8

We need to pray for those who care for the church.

            Address sin

... Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
~ Galatians 6:1-2

Now while Ezra was praying, and while he was confessing, weeping, ...
~ Ezra 10:1

~ Do we cry for lost brethren with open hearts?

● Desire companionship

... consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves ... ~ Hebrews 10:24-25

We need the encouragement of genuine worship.

Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits."
~ 1st Corinthians 15:33

... press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God
in Christ Jesus. ... ~ Philippians 3:13-15

... I have kept the faith. ... ~ 2nd Timothy 4:6-8

● Examine self              

Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; ...
~ Luke 17:3

... take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, ... ~ Acts 20:28

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. ...
~ 2nd Corinthians 13:5

... in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
~ 1st Timothy 4:16

Do you pray for yourself and others?

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another,
that you may be healed. ... ~ James 5:16

Do not gossip.

... no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
... ~ James 3:5-10

Lift the downtrodden.

... you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness,
considering yourself lest you also be tempted. ~ Galatians 6:1

"... First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift."
~ Matthew 5:23-24

... if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between
you and him alone. ... ~ Matthew 18:15

If it saves a soul itís worth it.

... he who turns a sinner from error of his way will save a soul from death ...
~ James 5:19-20

The greatest blessing of Godís family is being heirs to eternal bliss.

... if children, then heirs - heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, ...
~ Romans 8:14-18

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those
who will inherit salvation? ~ Hebrews 1:14

... rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised ... ~ James 2:5

... who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready ...
~ 1st Peter 1:4-5

... for you are all one in Christ Jesus. ... ~ Galatians 3:26-29

God pleads with us to be part of His family.
Will you be subject to His will?

"... as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." ~ Joshua 24:14-15
