6/1/2008 ~ Faithfulness


... "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. ..."
~ Matthew 9:37-38


The gospel of Christ needs to be preached.

... fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. ... ~ Galatians 5:22-23


So that the truth of God be spoken.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for;
the evidence of things not seen. ~ Hebrews 11:1


Can God depend on you?

"For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who
called his own servants and delivered his goods to them." ~ Matthew 25:14


... approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak,
not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts. ~ 1st Thessalonians 2:4


... commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
~ 2nd Timothy 2:2


Christians are servant stewards.

... for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
~ 1st Thessalonians 4:2


"... teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo,
I am with you always, even to the end of the age." ... ~ Matthew 28:18-20


... as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover
it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. ~ 1st Corinthians 4:1-2


One must be faithful.

... by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone
but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. ~ 2nd Corinthians 3:2-3


God relies on us.
We have been given the responsibility of sharing the truth.


Reliable, Trustworthy, Dependable

... For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.
~ Galatians 1:6-10


Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not
need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ~ 2nd Timothy 2:15


God wants us to understand His word.

Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
~ Ephesians 5:17


Faith requires work.

... that you do and will do the things we command you.
~ 2nd Thessalonians 3:4


Obey the word of God.

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince,
rebuke, exhort, with longsuffering and teaching. ~ 2nd Timothy 4:2


... commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
~ 2nd Timothy 2:2


Speak the word of God.

... Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and
idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge ...
~ 1st Timothy 6:20-21


Guard the word of God.

"... Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life."
~ Revelation 2:10


Would you rather die than to be unfaithful?
Can God rely on you to carry His truth when the going gets tough?


... be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.
~ 1st Timothy 3:11


Be faithful through all things; recall His words.

... a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, ...
~ Hebrews 2:17


... Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him,
as Moses also was faithful ... ~ Hebrews 3:1-2


... He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been
perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,
... ~ Hebrews 5:5-11


Jesus was faithful.
We are capable of being filled with faithfulness.


... an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast,
and which enters the Presence behind the veil, ... ~ Hebrews 6:19-20


"... He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him
are called, chosen, and faithful." ~ Revelation 17:14


Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey,
you are that one's slaves whom you obey, ... ~ Romans 6:16-18


We are the servants, Jesus is King.

... that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, ...
~ 1st Timothy 1:12-15


... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ... ~ Romans 3:23

We too are unworthy.
There will be pressure from those that question your steadfastness.
Reject them as Satan’s servants playing out their own whims.


... Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.
... ~ Matthew 24:45-51


Blessed are those that the master can say, “Well done faithful servant.”
~ There are consequences of unfaithfulness.


... If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless,
He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. ~ 2nd Timothy 2:11-13


But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of
his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
~ 1st Timothy 5:8


Would you choose to be faithless, unreliable, undependable,
untrustworthy, - in the face of God?


"... if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." ~ John 8:24

... whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess
before My Father who is in heaven. ~ Matthew 10:32-33


It will be wonderful if you are found in the faith.

"He who believes and is baptized will be saved;
but he who does not believe will be condemned." ~ Mark 16:16


Faith is a commitment of Heart
