1/27/2008 ~ New Creature


What do you find in Jesus? Salvation, hope?

... if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; ...
~ 2nd Corinthians 5:17-19

~ It should be a new creature.

... the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which
are seen were not made of things which are visible. ~ Hebrews 11:3
└─> God made from that which is not seen. 
                   ↑
                   Truth
God created for CREATIONS sake.
The idea of creation is that God had nothing to build with.
All that is is of God.

FOR WE THAT ARE ALIVE:
Dead = Nothing

         Without spirit, the body is dead. <─┐
For as the body without the spirit is dead,
so faith without works is dead also. ~ James 2:26

... God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who
spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, ... ~ Isaiah 42:5-7

God is the source of all.

... I have made the earth, And created man on it.
I - My hands - stretched out the heavens, ... ~ Isaiah 45:8-18

The Jews failed God and had become spiritually dead,
so, He let them go to recreate them, that they would follow Him.
God had a plan to show us how to come out of darkness.

... "The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were
more ... for you were the least of all peoples; ..." ~ Deuteronomy 7:7

CAUSE FOR UNHAPPINESS:
Spiritual Failure = Lost

The Jews disregarded Jeremiah for problems they would not address.

... After seventy years are completed at Babylon, I will visit you
and perform My good word toward you, ... ~ Jeremiah 29:8-10

Fact: God can take nothing and make everything.

1. Heart set in Sin = we were nothing, in darkness with no hope; Dead.

Need for creation, death of the old self.
                  Heart set in sin. <─┘

... unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter
the kingdom of God. ... ~ John 3:3-7

... be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man
which was created according to God, ... ~ Ephesians 4:17-24

... just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,
even so we also should walk in newness of life. ~ Romans 6:4

... knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him,
that the body of sin might be done away with, ... ~ Romans 6:5-6

... put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge
according to the image of Him who created him, ... ~ Colossians 3:9-11

... He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves,
but for Him who died for them and rose again. ... ~ 2nd Corinthians 5:14-15

2. Must recognize the value and worth of another man's soul.               
Attitude for all.                                                                              

... from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. ...
~ 2nd Corinthians 5:16

                                                            ┌─> Have fellowship.
... Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and
the God of love and peace will be with you. ... ~ 2nd Corinthians 13:11-14

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, ... ~ Philippians 1:3-6

3. By seeing God’s work in progress all around, you will draw closer     
to others and to Him in thankful praise.                                        

Any good you do, give it back to the rightful owner – God.

Creation took place because of God.

SEQUENCE IN LIFE OF SALVATION:
1. Heart set in Sin
2. Positive attitude toward others
3. Praise God for all goodness

We are new creatures in Christ.
